Château de Rougeon, 'Les Gryphées' Chardonnay, Côte Challonaise, France 2018

Unoaked Chardonnay from a massive, contiguous estate in the Côte Chalonnaise. 

Notes of lemon, ricotta, white pepper and ginger with a mouth-watering acidity and long, clean finish. Riper than many french Chardonnay's, but not as fruit-driven as domestic expressions, this is a wonderful middle of the road Chardonnay and bound to change nay-sayers' opinions.
